First Draft
On the final day of filming we had to re-shoot our whole film because one of our actors had broken his ankle. Fortunately Aaron's brother Philip was willing to take his place and we changed Ian from being Mary's step father to her step brother because of Philip’s age. We also had to offer Philip payment but this was a small price to pay in order for us to complete our film. Below shows our first draft of our film Camilla.

Opening Sequence (Trying Out Different Ideas)
We were planning to have a shot of the camera slowly coming towards the graveyard of a church with a shaky effect and showing glimpses of graves setting the scene for the film. We wanted this in black and white so that it would look scary and mysterious for our audience. In the end we decided to cut this out as it would go over our five minute mark. Below shows the footage of the edit and some pictures showing how we filmed it using the camera.

Make Up for Aaron's Death (The Priest)
First we had to stick the scar we had bought onto Aaron's neck by using Laytex.
We then added foundation on the scar so that it would blend in with Aaron's neck.
To cover the patch around the scar we also had to apply fake blood all around it so it would look real.
Lastly we applied a more runny type of blood created by maple syrup and red dye to give the effect that the blood is pouring out from Aaron's neck like it would if someone had really slit his neck. The only problem was that the blood would stain the carpet flooring, so we found an old rug that would match the carpet colour so that it wouldn't look out of place and we wouldn't ruin the carpet flooring.
Hannah's Make Up (Mary/Camilla)
In order to make our film look as scary as possible for our audience watching we had to make sure the make up we applied on our characters looked believable and realistic. After getting the right equipment, a layer of laytex so we could get a more wrinkly look to Hannah’s face and allow the wax being later applied to stick better. Next three strips of wax were rolled into sausage like shapes then placed on Hannah's face. The edges of the wax had to be rubbed into the skin so that the scars would be able to blend in with the whole face. After small slits in the wax were added where the fake blood would be applied, so the audience can easily tell they were scars/cuts. Later white cream was mixed with some powdered foundation in order for the face not to look pale. While applying the make up we had to be careful to not get too much make up on the scars, otherwise there was a high chance they could fall off. After covering the whole face and neck with the cream make up, it was turn for the eye shadow. In order to get a good effect black and a hint of purple eye shadow were mixed to make it look like she has been possessed. Next a light black eye shadow was applied to show her cheek bones. An even more fainter shade of black was added to parts of her face so it looked like she hadn't washed her face. Finally, Hannah wore a bald cap so that the wig could be placed on her head.

Location Shots
For our film to be successful, we needed a scary, believable location where an exorcism could take place. We decided to use Arjun's house as it is on the Corner of a road making it look that its on its own, followed by some creepy looking bushes on the corner to create a scary atmosphere for our audience watching.
The drive way, gave us a great idea to reveal the priest slowly and not show his face using close ups of his feet and hand knocking on the door. Doing this helped emphasise to the audience the great importance of the character and also to keep the audience intrigued.
This location is where Jenna is crying being comforted by her step son Ian and also where Ian has a short conversation with the priest before they both heads up stairs.
For shooting the scene where Ian and the priest walk up stairs we had to move the photo at the top as it was a religious picture and would get in the way of a few different shots. This scene allowed us to take advantage of both high and low angle shots keeping the film more interesting for the audience watching.
This is where we filmed the exorcism of Mary, as you can see we had to make massive changes to Arjun’s room to make it look as if it was an 18 year old girl’s room, so we had to change the bed sheets as a girl wouldn’t have blue colour sheets. We also had to be careful in not getting the toy cupboard in the shots of our film and also clear the remaining toys on the floor.

Target Audience
It is very important to know the target audience of your short film as it will help to decide what content to include in your short film for example a younger audience may enjoy pacer editing styles than older audiences to create suspense and tension where as older audiences may enjoy a slower editing pace. The target audience for our short film Camilla would be targeted at a niche audience having the demographics of ages 25-40 year olds, the ratio 65:35 male to female, social class A and B and having the psychographics of explorers and succeeders. The reason we chose to target our film at this particular audience is because this typical audience is more intellectual and would rather watch short films because of the time it would take to watch a feature length film, as it would be much shorter. The typical area our target audience would live at is in suburban areas and because of there are not many cinemas near to them in this area they tend to watch short films which are easily accessible online. Our short film is mainly targeted at males rather than females as horror films tend to contain a lot of violence which females would not really be enticed when watching a film.
Our film could be featured on a channel such as film4 because they have segments after their nine O’clock showing which either features a small interview about an up coming film or a short film, at this time 25-40 year olds would be our target audience because this is the time this age group tends to watch TV. Our film would also appeal to 20-35 year old aspiring directors at film festivals who would like to take our film further and develop it into a full-length feature film. Our target audience is also backed up by statistics of gender and age shown below of short horror films found on YouTube which show that the horror genre is most popular with males ageing between 25-54 year olds.

Rejection Letters
Due to the great turn out from our auditions, we were able to choose from a wide range of people which auditionees got the parts to play in our short film. However this is also meant that we had to let the other auditionees know that they did not get the part and this proved to be difficult as we did not want to hurt their feelings but this had to be done and we let them know that they did not get the part by sending them an email hoping they would understand. A draft of this email is shown below.
Dear.....
Thank you for coming to our audition last Wednesday.
We all thought that you performed well, with enthusiasm and talent. However, there were some very strong candidates, and we had to make some tough decisions. Unfortunately, we came to the conclusion that somebody else that we auditioned was more suited to play this particular role.
Thank you so much for coming over and we wish you all the best in the future.

The Auditions
The auditions for our short film started off very slow, with the first Auditionee 20 minutes late, but all was well because at the end of the day, we had ten people that showed up.
Here are the notable ones.
The First Auditionee
Paul
Paul an actor from Kent gave his all as he auditioned for the part of the priest, but in the end his presence was just too weak for the part of the priest.
The Next was
Michelle
Michelle was the only female actress to make it to the audtition, but still gave it her all as she acted superbly and was really considered for the part of Jenna.
Michelle in Motion
The next Auditionee was
Danny
Danny came in to the audition with flare and confidence, his presence were definitely felt, he auditioned for the role of Ian, but I insisted he reads the lines of the priest too. Danny got the part of Ian...but couldn't do it because of scheduling conflicts.
STAY STILL!
The next one is
Chris
He brought a prop!
Chris came in the audition a bit shaky, he was shaky and anxious, but he suprised everyone when he took centre stage, he didn't get the part he auditioned for(the priest) but I reluctantly offered him the part of Ian.
The next auditionee was
Paul
Paul was maybe the strongest candidate for the role of the priest, it was just due to where he lived why he didn't get the part, he literally pulled away from the other actors who auditioned for the priest (except for one).
The next and last (certainly not the least) audition worth mentioning is...
Aaron
Aaron came in looking fresh and cool, not the traits we were looking for, for the priest role, but as he started reading out the lines, he got all the things we was hoping for out and about, intensity, emphasis and power, hence why he got the part.
Below are some of the videos we took of the auditions and we also received some video auditions which were posted on youtube.

Casting
For our short film to look professional and so that the characters emotions and feelings were portrayed clearly in our short film we decided to look for actors that had some experience which we did by advertising on the website http://www.starnow.co.uk where different actors of all ages advertise there abilities and experiences for people like us looking for actors to be in films for them. We had a great response from this having thirty five actors and actresses just in the first day and decided to hold auditions so that we were able to see the acting abilities of the different actors and actresses and then finally decide who got what part. Below there is a leaflet of information about our auditions.
Unfortunately after two days we got an email (shown below) saying are listing was unable to get approved but this did not stop us from getting in touch with the actors and actresses by email and phone and so the auditions went along.

The Priest takes a closer look at her face back to normal,
